About the group
The Exploration and Environmental Geophysics (EEG) group is part of the Institute of Geophysics in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at ETH Zurich.
In our research we develop new methods for acquisition and processing of geophysical data for exploration and environmental applications. A significant part of the group is concerned with 3D surface and borehole seismic data. We also research 2D and 3D georadar, resistivity and magnetic methods. In addition, a major effort in the group's activities is directed towards research on physics of wave propagation in heterogeneous media, wave-equation based acquisition, and waveform modelling and inversion methods for exploration and environmental geophysics applications.
Our group is also responsible for the external page Joint Master's programme in Applied Geophysics and hosts the students during their second semester, and some for their fourth semester thesis projects.
